ELEMENTAL ANALYSIS OF WELDS WITH AN X-RAY FLUORESCENCE ANALYSER

Abstract

High-strength low-alloyed (HSLA) steels are often used as an advanced material for the construction of multi-pass welded joints. Chemical analyses of welds are performed with X-ray fluorescence
spectrometry (XRF) using an X-ray fluorescence spectrometer (Thermo Scientific Niton XL3t GOLD+). The aim of this paper is to design a measuring table for the x-ray fluorescence analyser. At the end
of the research, the experimental results measured with the table are compared with the values obtained from manual measurements.
